Our inspiration
People have been travelling since time immemorial, and today is no different. Travel has always been a way to explore the unknown, to learn, and to connect with people and places beyond our everyday experience.
Books, films, and stories may spark our curiosity, but nothing compares to the learning and growth that comes from experiencing the world first-hand. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to travel, it is about how consciously and respectfully we engage with the places we visit. Being mindful of local cultures, traditions, and ways of life allows us to leave a positive footprint and contribute meaningfully to the communities we encounter. Travelling with an open mind, free from preconceived notions, lets us embrace the richness and diversity of different lands. It allows us to create our own unique experiences, interact authentically with local people, and carry back stories that are truly our own.
It is this process...of discovery, connection, and understanding, that inspires us and continues to fuel our passion for creating meaningful journeys for others.
How It All Began
Sunita Sindhwani Ramanand's passion for travel began at a very young age. Growing up in India, she moved often, as her father’s army career took the family to far-flung corners of the country. Each new posting meant a new home, new landscapes to explore, and new people to meet. Weekends were spent visiting nearby towns and villages, wandering through vibrant markets, interacting with locals, and absorbing the traditions and stories that made each region unique. Without realising it then, she was laying the foundations for a lifelong curiosity and a deep passion for exploring the world.
A proud self-professed nomad, Sunita eventually left her legal career to pursue her true calling in travel. She went on to spend more than 15 years working with well-known tour operators in the UK, gaining extensive experience across the industry. Throughout this time, she noticed a growing appetite among travellers for journeys that offer deeper, more meaningful, and transformational experiences.
Driven by this vision, Trotting Soles Travel was founded in 2022, born from a firm belief in partnering with like-minded travellers who want to push the boundaries of conventional tourism and truly connect with the places they visit.

Trotting Soles Travel is a fully accredited and bonded tour operator. We want our clients to have complete peace of mind and feel secure in the knowledge that their holiday is financially protected, and book with confidence.
The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 require us to ensure financial security for the monies that you pay for the package holidays booked with us and for your repatriation in the event of Trotting Soles Travel going out of business.
